What Lucy Wore: Lindybop Ophelia dress from Nyla Rose

Hi Launderette's hope you're all well!
I've been pretty busy being a grown up so I've not been blogging as much recently.
But I'm still happy to pick it up here and there,
and who knows, I might get right into it again!

Anyway the purpose of todays post is,
I was lucky enough to be sent a gorgeous vintage style dress from Nyla Rose
I don't know if you've heard of them, but they stock a whole range of cute vintage style
clothing, accessories and home ware.
I actually first came across them on facebook (they run amazing competitions FYI)

I was sent this fabulous Red Ophelia Dress, by Lindy Bop (RRP £45)
Unfortunately when it arrived it was too big for me,
but I knew of the perfect girl for the modelling job......

Introducing the lovely Lucy,
the amazing baking beauty from Delicate Bakes ltd in Great Malvern!

I'm a 12 to 14 on top, so ordered the 14 as it looked quite fitted.
It was pretty baggy and unflattering on me, the 12 would have been fine.
Lucy here is a 14-16 on top and the 14 (as you can see!)
fits her perfectly, and hugs in all the right places :)
So if you are in doubt about size, go down.

Its a great midi length, the fabric is lovely quality and has a nice amount of weight and stretch.
It would be great to wear to any posh occasion, such as a ball, prom or wedding.
Its such a flattering shape, nips in at the waist, and skims over the hips and bum!
The colour is gorgeous, but this dress comes in a whole host of prints and hues.

The dress also has great movement!
We put a white tulle underskirt under ours to puff it out a tiny bit,
and if you sway or dance it really looks amazing.

Overall both me and Lucy were really impressed with both the dress and the service from Nyla Rose

I'd definitely buy from them myself, and cant recommend them highly enough.

Have you tried anything from Nyla Rose or Lindybop?

Let me know what you think in the comments :)

Bye for now,

xXx

What Milly Wore: Reliving my youth

Hi guys,
I have had a few requests for pics of my hair so here they are

Please excuse my redfacedness!
this is my natural complexion without make-up!

But yeah, I love my new hair colour
much more subtle and unique than all out highlighter pink
It reminds me of my little pony or unicorns!
I just wish it was much longer and wavier!

For upkeep I'm using a purple toner to keep it as pale and white blonde / pink as possible,
 rather than yellowy peachy pink

( tehee you can see the boy in my sunglasses)

Today I wore:

Floral Playsuit/Romper: £20 Miss Selfridge Sale (this season)
Livin in the 80's My little Pony T-shirt (underneath): Doe @ Urban Outfitters
Grey Leggings: French Connection
Metallic Pewter Bag: Topshop
Avitors (actually the boys) : 25p New Look sale!!!
( nose cushions missing but we just bought some new ones for a pound!)

Grey Measuring Tape Detail Ballet Pumps: Office Sale

I had to shorten the straps on my playsuit by a considerable amount
as it was far to long in the body!

I got nifty with my sewing machine and got rid of the bottom half of the straps
making it into a V rather than an X

so now it looks like this

Here is the back of my romper, and what it looks like now!
looking at this pic made me realise just how short and tubby I am
like a munchkin!

I'm quite pleased with the little sewing job I did there,
I don't think it looks altered at all which is good!

Working full time again next week so not so many pretty outfits!

do you ever alter your clothes?
had any disasters??

hope you've had a great weekend

xXx

Damn You Home Sense!

So actually I've been really good at saving my money recently
Until yesterday that is
When I went to HomeSense!

Where I spent £120 !
oops

I bought a double Cath Kidston bed cover for £29.99
which is really good value considering they are normally £60 or something!

I also got a framed keep calm carry on poster for £24.99
I cant find a picture of the exact poster in frame,
but its pretty much as above!
My rooms theme is kinda kitsch retro Brit pop,
Plain white walls,
Black furniture, and bright accent colours,
so it goes amazingly

Most of my money went on this cushion!
I cannot tell you how much I love it!
It is huge, and so Brit pop!
it was £50, should be £100 though.
It's by a french brand called Teo Jasmin
Who specialize in digitally printed interior items,
like cushions, chairs and canvases

Their website is full of amazing items
Including this:

Which I LOVE
It doesn't go with my room at all, so I'm not going to get it
but I cant wait till I have a house of my own so I can give each room a theme!

So yeah,
back to saving my money now!

Do you get excited about interiors??

xXx
