Festival Look on a Budget - with House of Fraser

Hi Guys,
What weather we're having here in the UK eh.
I was set a challenge by House of Fraser, to pick some items from their website to create a festival look.
Easy peasy, I thought..... there was a catch. It was on a budget!!

I don't know about you but I'd never thought of HoF as being somewhere I could shop and get a bargain.
It was all up market, lovely things that mostly I'd have to save up for.
How wrong was I!

They actually stock a wide range of brands, many with items in a purse friendly price bracket.
also their sale section is brilliant, so many things that won't break the bank :)

This is my look, I chose:
Floral Digi Print Maxi Dress - Label Lab £20.50 reduced from £69.00

This dress is gorgeous, such a nice print, easy to wear and versatile for the hot weather.
I got a 14, and could have gotten away with a 12
so if in doubt size down. Also I'm 5.ft 2 and its a wee bit long but most maxi dresses are.

Pink and Silver Leaf Friendship Bracelet - White Stuff £6.00 reduced from £10
I accessorized with this cute adjustable bracelet.
It looks more like a feather to me but I love it whatever it is!

Oversized Half Metal Sunglasses - Warehouse £5.00 (can't find their original price but I'm guessing £15+)
These (and most of the stuff I got actually) are now out of stock.
I totally understand why, because these are a complete bargain!

Daisy Trim Trilby Hat - Jane Norman £10 reduced from £16
I topped off my summer look with this straw trilby,
I've been looking for a sun hate for ages and this was just the ticket!

Total Outfit Cost - £41.50
Including - Dress - Sunglasses - Bracelet - Hat
You can't say fairer than that :)
Just add a pair of loafers like I have here, or a pair of plain flip flops and you're good to go!

One last thing,
As I'm currently doing a Instagram challenge,
(look for the hashtag #tattychallenge if you're interested)
I added my own shell flamingo necklace to my look
£33 - Sale - Tatty Devine

So, will you be shopping at House of Fraser for your holiday outfits?
Are there any other shops surprising you with their affordable ranges?

Review: Shopperholic bag, Pilgrim Earrings

I was recently sent a couple of lovely little bits to review!
So here they are:
Firstly I was sent this reusable 'Shopperholic' folding shopping bag by Mustard
It's super functional and well thought out
and it has this tongue in cheek designer bag print on it which is fab!
I have to be honest and say they pink really isn't me, but one of my friends will love it I'm sure!
It also comes in a lovely beige colour that is right up my street.
at £4.98 this is a great little extra for a friends birthday :)

Also it's worth checking out their website www.justmustard.com
I've had a good mooch and there are some great quirky items for gifts
I was also sent these gorgeous heart shaped earring by Pilgrim Jewellery
Aren't they pretty!

Very have a few different pieces of pilgrim jewellery,
I like these earrings and the matching necklace, as they are rose gold plated
which is my absolute all time favorite finish!

They feel really good quality,
and can be worn for all sorts of occasions.
A super gift for a birthday (or valentines, guys!!)
I think these are currently sold out,
but they have a couple of similar heart necklaces that are a very reasonable price :)

Once again, thanks to the companies involved for sending me these items to review.

My opinions are all my own!

Review: Fanpac London Rock T-shirts

Hey guys,
Look I managed to get my beardy boy on the blog!!
We were sent these amazing t-shirts by the lovely people at Fanpac London.
They sell officially licensed rock t-shirts with awesome prints on the front.

I chose their Blondie tee,
all their tees come in relaxed unisex sizes,
I got a M and it fits perfectly (I'm a size 12-14 on top)

The boy is the biggest rock fan I know, hes hugely into prog rock,
so when he saw the Pink Floyd one he knew it was for him!
He got a L as he's pretty broad shouldered and tall, and it was fine.

Their tees retail at £19.99
and they are really worth the money.
They feel really soft, the prints are fantastic quality,
they keep their shape and wash well
So overall we are both really pleased!

 I Wore:

Blondie T-shirt - Fanpac London
Black Jeans - Marks & Spencers
Studded Leather Jacket - Religion
Luxury Jones style boots - DIYed by me!

Amazon Lip & Cheek Tint - Bitten Berry
Eye Crayon - Midnight
Amazon Metallic Kohl Liner - First Light
Lipstick Crayon - Vintage
Amazon Crayon - Sun Shower
Lip Polish - Coral (top right)

That's Everything!

Recommended: Amazon Lip & Cheek Tint - very good colour, more of a purple based red compared to benetint etc, really lovely feel and consistency, plus staying power!

A Bit of a Let Down: Skin Tint- Fair. Totally different to the swatch on the website
Comes out pretty orange, once blended not too bad but the most expensive thing in the range at £10
Smells very floral too

Absolute Bargain:Amazon Nails - Cloud! I'm not sure if its the same for each colour but great formula opaque in one coat! easy to apply and only £5
Biggest Surprise: Both the Amazon Crayon and the Amazon Kohl, are really good, super smooth, great colour. Very like the urban decay liners or MAC pearl gliders.
Not sure it was worth it: Eye Crayon - Midnight. Its not terrible but after swatching both the amazon liners as well its just not anywhere near as good as them

It seems I liked everything from the trend range a lot better than their basics
the Amazon line is a little more, so maybe that's where they put all the little gems?

Any thoughts?

My first Beauty Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Hi guys,
The reason I am showing you the god awful picture above is today I'm doing my first review!
Ive never really ventured into the beauty blogging world before
so please bare with me!
I don't know the correct terms for things,
but I can give my honest novices opinion, hopefully to help other newbies!

I bought the new Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation & concealer, from boots yesterday!
I had seen it in magazines and saw the display,
I tested it on the back of my hand and thought it was worth a try.
I bought it with my points as well, so nothing to loose really!

As you can see my skin is very red,
in fact it can get 10 x as bad as the photo above
(and I am wearing a little light reflecting shimmer above
which seems to take away some of the redness)
I'm also quite pale, and I'm not really a foundation wearer
as I've never found anything I'm happy with.

Here is me with just the concealer and foundation on!
The products both smell really nice,
I'm generally really funny about strong smells,
but this was just pleasant and fresh, and the smell dissipated quite quickly.
Colour wise this is 51 the palest they had, its an OK match but not great
Its not pale enough and a bit too yellow/orange based
rather than pink beige.
Having said that I really like the consistency and coverage,
it was super easy so apply evenly even though I'm not used to foundation!
I used the concealer under my eyes and on my nose, underneath the foundation.

and here is my make-up complete!
I showed my sister during the process and she said with all my normal red tones taken away I looked to pale, so I applied some estee lauder shimmer powder and pout bronzer on top.
I feel i look a little too orangey for my liking,
but that's a combo of the foundation and bronzer.
being naturally red I have never had use for a blusher, I seriously don't own one,
so a blusher is now on my to buy list!

Overall , I really like this foundation, and I will persevere with it,
combining it with different powders etc to see if I can look less yellowy,
love the consistency and ease of application though!
7.5/10

Hope you found this interesting!

Any ideas on what colour / type / brand of blusher I should get??

Have you tried the new Bourjois foundation? what do you think?
