New Arrival: Spring Update

 I'm trying to save for a car,

but I keep buying pretty things instead!

Here are some of the thing I've bought over the last few weeks :)

Rainbow Crystal Gem 'Joey' Glass Necklace £25 Kurt Geiger (Reduced from £50)

I love this necklace, it arrived today but it had a £10 sticker on it, 

I phoned to complain and they've agreed to refund me the difference.

Lulu Guinness for Uniqlo T-shirts £12.90 each 

These tees are great, I've always loved Lulu Guinness with her iconic lip print

but her main line is way out of my price range.

They're pretty cheap and will go with a lot, I especially love the peter pan collar.

Kurt Geiger Swim/Swimming studded black biker boots from Shoeaholics

I ordered Swimming (the ones with the extra studds on the toes) for £99 (reduced from £260)

and received Swim (the ones without the studs on the toe) which is worth £59 (reduced from £240)

Needless to say I was a bit miffed, but once again they will be refunding the difference!

I do love them though, great to toughen up a floral dress.

 Fox Knitted Jersey Jumper - The Orphans Arms £65

I bought a follow the white rabbit jumper from T.O.A before christmas

and I've lived in it, so comfy, warm and such cute designs.

So when I saw this fox print one I just had to get it!

 Celia Birtwell for Uniqlo dresses £19.90 (reduced from £29.90) trousers £14.90

I really like the prints Celia Birtwell creates.I loved her topshop collab a few years back too.

I bought the dress in 3 colours, it'll be great for summer.

The skinny jeggings are amazing and they fit so well I'm tempted to buy another pair.or two!

What Milly Wore: Simply Be Fur Collar Coat

 Hi guys,

I was fortunate enough to be contacted by

Simply Be

and asked to review a product of my choice.

I'd heard of Simply Be, but never tried their products before,

so I was interested to see what they had to offer.

Looking through their website there were lots of items that I liked

and coming from a family of curvy ladies I was pleased to see that their size range was so good

with most items starting at a size 14 and ending at a 32

I chose this gorgeous 'Tweed Coat With Fur Trim'

as I was looking for a new coat for autumn, and this style looked very designer to me.

I ordered a size 14 which I found fit nicely, slightly oversized which I like.

My coat was well packaged and arrived very quickly.

The first thing I noticed about the coat was the gorgeous faux fur collar

it has such a luxurious vintage vibe, and feels super soft.

I also like that the charcoal tweedy fabric has flecks of darker and lighter greys,

so it's great for going with everything but doesn't look boring

It looks lovely undone or done up, and fastens with chunky buttons

It had decent sized pockets which impressed me

as there's nothing I hate more than a faux pocket!

I also love that the collar is removable!

which I had not realised when ordering,

meaning you get two very different looks in one :)

The fur trim / collar can also be worn on its own as a stole,

I think it would look great vintage tea dress.

Lust After: Bold Biker Boots

Hi Guys, It's that time of year again

when I start to obsess over boots,

yummy leather good quality boots

generally studded, and most of the time black

here are the best styles I've found this year: 

Ash Trash Studded Biker Boots £295

These are pretty much the Ultimate biker book,

I wrote about them last year and I still wan't them 

I cant pay that much for one item though!

Available in different finishes (Brown / black leather, gold / silver studs)

If you can afford it, go for it

they will last you an age!

Ash Tennessee Vintage Tan Leather Star Studded Biker Boots £310

I don't remember seeing this style from Ash last year

but they are gorgeous!

The star studs are just fab 

and I love the vintage feel of them

(they come in tan or black too)

Ash Sugar Black Leather Studded Biker Boot £229

Similarly this style from Ash appears to be new

and I like it because it's a little less punky and chunky

and a bit more feminine and fashioney!

Carvela / Kurt Geiger Black Leather Smoke Tweed Boot £180

The boots are gorgeous!

I found these by Kurt Geiger, and although still expensive

they are quite a lot cheaper than the ones from Ash

I chose these because they are unique and different

I'm sure you wont find a similar pair anywhere else.

They are also a lot less harsh,

and would go really well with quilted and wax jackets 

for a more countryside feel.

Bronx Black Suede Studded Biker Boot ASOS £75 (reduced from £115)

These boots from ASOS are a pretty good price

Black studs on Black suede with a zip detail down the middle

very fetishy!

Buffalo Studded Leather Boots from La Redoute £100 ish (reduced from £140)

I really like the different colours and finished of the studs on these

especially the rose gold!

These come in this lovely distressed Brown and an equally stunning Black

Armour Leather Biker Boots by Topshop £70

These are great if you're after a plain versatile black biker boot,

these would go with everything, from skinny jeans to leggings and lacey dresses

They are a pretty good price at £70 aswell.

Clarks Majorca Sun Black Plain Leather Biker Boots £89.99

These boots from Carks are a little bit chunkier and more solid

they look very well made and I'm betting from Clarks they would be comfy!

I really like the Faux Fur trim on them as an extra added detail.

Clarks Liquid Crystal Black Leather Buckled Biker Boots £120

I like the serious amount of buckles on these!

 I love how Clarks haven't played it too safe 

and have done something a little different.

At first I though with all the buckles and laces they would be fiddly to get in

but actually there is a simple zip on the inside so they are easily put on!

Ash Ralph Studded Lace-Up Biker Boot £229

These are somewhere between a biker boot and a worker / combat / military boot

I love the battered feel they've got

and the fact they are lace-up too.

The more you beat them up the better they would look.!

great to wear casually everyday.

Vintage America Barstool Leather Boot from Shoeaholics £29 reduced from £170

I love these boots and have tried to order them

but I got an email saying they were now out of stock in my size :(

What a bargain though, at £29 it would be stupid not to buy them!

Such good quality leather, and I just love the chain detail.

Kurt Geiger London Salem Gold Boots £190

Last but not least are these Gold beasts!

I couldn't not feature them, they are so bad they are good right :)

I love a bit of tackyness.

In all fairness these do come in your regular black or brown too

but I thought the gold was eyeblindingly amazing!

 So I finally got my bum into gear and took another outfit picture!

As you can see I'm loving leather as always,

and I'm feeling a bit gothicy!

Fashion Fix: Project Rhinestone!

A Couple of weeks ago,
I discovered, whilst surfing the fashion sites,
The above trainers.

I thought, 'hey they're pretty cool, not to everyone's taste, but I love a bit of tacky sparkle myself!'

Then I saw the price......
are you sitting down
( the answer is probably yes as you are on a computer!)
This particular pink pair
are a snap at just £250!!!

These trainers from StarSparkles by Pauline Clifford are all the rage in Hollywood
and worn by the likes of Paris Hilton...
who probably got them for free

Luckily their lowtops are a much more reasonably priced £130

OK so I know they are real Converse with real swarovski crystals,
but at that inflated price tag I'm surprised anyone has bought a pair

So I thought to myself, I could probably make a pair of my own,
and make them better!

So that is just what I did!

I started off by purchasing some Hi-top trainers on eBay
This particular pair are Kurt Geiger,
But I did go a bit crazy and buy two pairs by Converse as well, which I shall be transforming at a later date!

I read up on crystals and glue
I purchased some mid range crystals from eBay in bulk,
I thought about real swarovski, but they were pretty expensive, plus I wasn't sure how well this would work so didn't want to waste money

TBH I'm pretty impressed with the crystals I got, I didn't go the cheapest there were,
I made sure I got glass instead of plastic, as they shine better and stand up to the elements more

I also bought some super strong glue (E6000 Glue)
as recommended by one of the crystal sellers on eBay
Its industrial strength

Then I got Started
As these were sequined all over already
I decided to just do the toe-cap rather than a design up the side

I put the glue onto the toe cap, rather than onto the crystal
I then used a cocktail stick with double sided tape on the end to pick up the rhinestone and place it onto the glue

It took me a while to get into the rhythm, but after a bit i got me a little production line going

the glue dries super fast, so it took me a few times to learn to only put enough glue on for say 10 crystals at once, any more than that the glue has a film over it before you can get to it!

So here is the first shoe done!
I liked the way it turned out, I used 3 different sizes of crystals, so i could get better coverage and less gaps,
it also made it look less uniform so it wasn't in rows which I liked.

This is the finished Product!
I LOVE them soo tacky and bad that they are GOOD!

I'm now leaving them to dry for at least 72 hours,
as recommended by someone on eBay

and if they stay on well,
I shall be making many more pairs,
maybe even customise trainers for friends for Christmas

I'm also thinking of selling some on eBay!

Overall I spend about 3 hours on them
and spent £25 including the shoes and crystals
and I have stacks of crystals spare

so that's what I've been up to recently!
I shall show you if I do some more!
